Welding procedure according EN ISO: 1090-1
As earlier announced the new standard according EN ISO 1090 has entered the market from the first of July 2014. Most of the companies that are active in construction and welding will face these new rules. This EN ISO 1090 quality system will grant traceability of your purchased goods and will grant a higher quality towards your customer.
Some aspects within the EN ISO 1090 has effect on the welding consumables and for that reason we have modified our quality system to the new European standard that requires the CE mark for the Ceweld® welding consumables used in construction parts.
Standard "welding procedures" are available for sale in the market, this concerns some approved procedures by LLoyds and TUV according EN 15614-1 (WPQR). These procedures are only allowed in execution class 1&2 within the EN ISO 1090 and are usually welded with SG2 or SG3 type of welding wire. On the (WPS) the filler metal is mentioned according the EN code; example EN 14341: G 42 3 M G3Si = SG2.
The EN 15614-1 describes the following:; “8.4.4 Filler metal, designation:
Filler metals may be replaced as long as they have similar mechanical properties , same type of powder or coating, same nominal composition and equal or lower Hydrogen content according the code of the latest European EN standard for the applicable filler metal.
Herewith the filler metal brand name becomes subordinate towards mechanical properties, composition, hydrogen content etc...
In case of execution class 3&4 according EN 1090 you need to weld your own procedure witnessed by a Notified Body such as Lloyds, GL, ABS, DNV, TUV, etc.
of course our team is ready to support you with your pre-WPS and also with physical support and guidance during welding.
